Eye and Contact Lens Association Contact Lens Curriculum for Ophthalmology Residents (CCOR)

Welcome to the ECLA Contact Lens Curriculum for Ophthalmology Residents (CCOR) Program!

We are pleased to release this program of seven (7) video learning modules which provide contact lens education specifically created for the ophthalmology resident’s needs. You can complete these in any order and at the conclusion you’ll receive a certificate of completion.

  • Module 5: Keratoconus and Irregular Astigmatism (11:32 min) 5 quiz questions
  • Module 6: Contact Lens Complications & Safety (13:10 min) 5 quiz questions
  • Module 7: Myopia Management (14:59 min) 5 quiz questions

 

Learning Objectives:

At the successful completion of these learning modules, students will:

  • Be familiar with the wide variety of contact lens types, technologies, and terminology
  • Be able to choose and prescribe from among the contact lens types to effectively address patients’ individual vision needs
  • Understand how materials and fitting promote optimum contact lens comfort and sustainable use
  • Be familiar with insertion and removal techniques
  • Be able to instruct patients regarding storage, disinfection, and safety
  • Become familiar with therapeutic uses of contact lenses, as well as other special applications such as cosmetic use and for myopia control
  • Understand the role of specialty contact lenses in addressing ocular surface disease
