Membership Categories/Prices Description
Regular Members:
3+ years in practice: $295.00
Regular Members shall be physicians, including both doctors of medicine (MD) and doctors of osteopathy (DO), who practice ophthalmology and are duly licensed to practice by the licensing bodies of their countries; and who are interested in and concerned with contact lenses and the purposes of ECLA. Regular Members shall have all rights and privileges of membership in ECLA, including, but not limited to, the right to attend and take part in the annual membership meeting and any special meetings of membership; the right to hold office or committee appointment; the right to serve on the Board of Directors; the right to nominate and vote in all elections; and the right to receive such publications of ECLA as determined by the Executive Committee. Regular Members are Voting Members of ECLA. A subscription to the Journal is included in Regular Members' dues.
Resident/Fellow Members:
Dues waived
Resident and Fellow Members shall be physicians, including both doctors of medicine and doctors of osteopathy, who have completed or are in residency or fellowship training to practice ophthalmology in an accredited institution in the United States, its territories, possessions, or Canada, and who are interested in and concerned with contact lens problems and the purposes of ECLA. Resident and Fellow Members membership shall be limited to attendance at business meetings; they shall not hold elected office, vote, or serve on the Executive Committee. Residents and Fellows in ophthalmology are invited to accept free membership in ECLA and receive ECLA publicationsm including an electronic subscription to the Journal. SPECIAL NOTE: At present, annual dues are waived for ophthalmology residents and fellows. Please email documentation to eyes@clao.org
Associate Members:
$275.00
Associate Members shall be persons other than doctors of medicine (MD), and doctors of osteopathy (DO), who support the purpose and mission of ECLA, and who meet at least one of the following criteria: (1) association with an academic institution, or employed in industry, and devoting significant time to scientific research in ocular sciences and contact lenses; (2) recognized lecturer or writer/publisher in ocular sciences and contact lenses; (3) a recognized expert in ocular sciences and contact lenses who has served as a Faculty member at the ECLA Annual Meeting for at least two (2) meetings; (4) a Fellow of the Contact Lens Society of America (CLSA); or (5) a Diplomate in Cornea & Contact Lenses of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO). Associate Members shall not hold office, vote, or serve on the Board of Directors. They may serve on Standing and Ad Hoc Committees, have privileges of the floor at all ECLA business meetings. A subscription to the Journal is included in their dues.
Optemetric Members:
$245.00
Optometric Members shall be doctors of optometry (OD) who practice optometry and are duly licensed to practice by the licensing bodies of their countries; and who support the purposes and mission of ECLA.  Optometric Members shall not hold elected office, vote, or serve on the Executive Committee. They may serve on Standing and Ad Hoc Committees, have privileges of the floor at all ECLA business meetings, and shall have the right to receive such publications of ECLA as determined by the Executive Committee.Doctors of Optometry who support the purposes and mission of ECLA are invited to join. A subscription to the Journal is included in their dues.
Allied Health Members:
$95.00

Allied Health Members shall be individuals other than doctors of medicine, doctors of osteopathy, doctors of optometry and doctors of philosophy who are employed in an ophthalmic related field and who support the purposes and mission of ECLA. Allied Health Members shall not hold elected office, vote, or serve on the Executive Committee. They may serve on Standing and Ad Hoc Committees, have privileges of the floor at all ECLA business meetings, and shall receive ECLA ENews of ECLA.  Allied Health Members do not hold elected office or vote. Subscription to the Journal is not included with Allied Health Membership.
